Book 15 - The Cat in the Night by Dahlov Ipcar

I read books today at Aunt Stacey's work.  Because I had to because I am going to grade 3 and they were picking books for Grade 3 and I had to read them to know if they were good books.  I got a donation for my book challenge and Barb drew me a picture for reading some books.  The picture will be the cover for my Danny and the Dinosaur story.  I like that they were all good stories.  I even read a Level M book. 

The first book was The Cat in the Night.   I would say it is a gold star book.  I like when the cat saw the things I saw and then we see it all coloured in.  It is a cat at night and he keeps wandering around and seeing different things in the country.  I liked the colours and the pictures.

It is Rockin' Awesome to be in the newspaper.  People are recognizing me from my picture and I got some more sponsors. Some people thought I have red hair but it is blonde hair.   I have been asked to talk about the book challenge at the Rotary Club. 

Book 14 - I'm Not Going to Get up Today by Dr. Seuss

 It is a gold star. I could not decide what star this was so I let my mind decide it was a gold.  This is about a boy who would not get out of bed.  They try everything to get him up even strawberry and marshmallow and butterscotch ice cream.  They keep trying different things but he will not get out of bed.  Finally they give up and give his breakfast away.  It sounds like my Mom. 

Book 13 There is a Bird on Your Head! by Mo Willems

A bird lands on Gerald's head.  Then another bird lands on Gerald's head.  The two birds are in love so they start building a nest.  Then they look like they are hugging each other and then there are three eggs in the nest on Gerald's head.  The eggs hatch and Gerald has two birds, one nest and three chicks on his head.  He is not happy. 

Piggie tells Gerald if he doesnt want the birds on there then he should ask them to leave.  Gerald asks the birds to leave and they say "okay".  The birds move the nest to Piggie's head and Piggie is not happy.

Book 12 - I Am Invited To A Party! by Mo Willems

It is an AWESOME book!  I got it from the Librarians.  Leave a comment or send an email to me and tell me what you like or don't like about librarians. Tell me! I am a librarian myself.  I have a library in my closet.

This book is about Piggie getting invited for a birthday party.  But they didn't know what kind of a party it was so they wear everything.  It was a fancy dress costume pool party and everybody had fun.  Piggie and Gerald books ALWAYS have a pigeon at the end of the book.  The pigeon in this book is in an envelope.

Book 11 - The Giant Jam Sandwhich by John Vernon Lord and Janet Burroway

I really liked it, it is a gold star because it was really hard to read maybe even for an adult.  It is about a big sandwich to trap all the wasps.  The birds eat the big sandwhich with all the wasp guts for a hundred weeks.  This was a gift from Jilanna.  It was her favourite when she was little.  Isn't that amazing?
